Samir Rehem is a graduate of Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto, where he received his Bachelor's degree in film studies. After graduating from film school Rehem honed his craft directing music videos and commercials for various artists such as The Matthew Good Band, Toronto indie legends, Deadly Snakes and Montreal rockers, Bionic. In 2000, Samir directed his first feature length film, Invitation, which was broadcast on TMN, Showcase & IFC Canada.Over the past few years Samir has been working extensively in Canadian television, most notably on the cult series Kenny vs. Spenny. He's been working with the comic duo since 2004 as a picture editor, story manger and cinematographer. Recently Samir completed a short dramatic film entitled The Answer Key (2007), which was Official Selection at the Toronto International Film Festival (2007), Edmonton International Film Festival, Whistler Film Festival, Indianapolis International Film Festival and recently won the Kodak Cinematography Award at the World Wide Short Film Festival. This past year Samir directed 13 episodes of a new original comedy series for IFC Canada entitled, Cock'd Gunns (2007) for which he won best direction at the 2008 Canadian Comedy Awards. Cock'd Gunns also took home two Gemini's at the Gemini Awards. Rehem's last project wrapped in December of 2008, a new comedy series for FX Networks and Showcase Canada, entitled Testees.
